Radio station ZUN Radio announced a significant change in its terrestrial digital broadcasting distribution strategy effective September 1, 2026. By agreement, the station is leaving the DAB+ network operated by Teleko digital and moving to the Play.cz multiplex. This change requires listeners using digital receivers to retune their stations to update the new position in their program list.
The technical switchover between operators will occur as an instant cut. From September 1, 10:00 AM, broadcasting in the Teleko network will be terminated and replaced by the signal in the Play.cz network. To ensure continuous listening, the operator recommends users run the automatic station search function on their DAB+ receivers. Despite the change in operator, the existing audio quality, supplementary text information, and graphic services will be maintained.
While the station is leaving the Teleko network, distribution with operators Broadcast Services and Fiera touch continues unchanged. It is the collaboration with Fiera touch that brings an expansion of signal availability. As of Monday evening, broadcasting in the Fiera touch network has also been launched in Vysočina, where ZUN Radio was previously unavailable. Through this multiplex, the station also continues to cover the Pardubice and Hradec Králové regions, where it was present before.
The change of the main operator for Bohemia will have a direct impact on territorial availability, as Teleko digital and Play.cz networks use different infrastructures. In some locations, there may be a signal outage, while in others, the availability of ZUN Radio will increase. A specific situation arises in Bohemia, where the operator Play.cz does not operate in the Liberec, Hradec Králové, and Pardubice regions – here, reception will depend on the reach of other utilized networks.
The operator expects the move to the Play.cz network, which falls under České Radiokomunikace, to primarily optimize distribution costs and stabilize its market position. The Play.cz network already broadcasts other private stations, such as Color or Hey. Reception in the DAB+ system remains free for the end-user and does not require an internet connection.
