The news section of TV Nova has strengthened its position in the digital media landscape. Its TikTok profile, operating under the name @televizninoviny, has surpassed 401 thousand followers. According to current data, it has become the most-watched Czech news channel on the platform, maintaining a lead of approximately 160 thousand users over the second-place CNN Prima NEWS.
The editorial strategy focuses on combining television content with content created exclusively for social networks. In addition to excerpts from the main Televizní noviny and TN Live broadcasts, the team produces specialized formats. Among the most successful are "Rychlovky s Ester Kabelovou" (Quickies with Ester Kabelová), which the CME group has also adapted for the Slovak and Romanian markets. This year, "Ze studia" (From the Studio) and "Brusel is calling" (Brussels is Calling), focusing on European politics, were added to the portfolio.
"Social networks are another important distribution platform for us, alongside television and the web. We want to be with the news wherever people are – and especially the younger generation today consumes news primarily on social networks," said Kamil Houska, Director of News and Current Affairs at TV Nova.
In addition to TikTok, the media outlet shows strong numbers on other networks as well. On Facebook, 413 thousand people follow the news, on Instagram 200 thousand, and on YouTube 39 thousand users. The total community across all main channels thus amounts to approximately 1.05 million followers. From the beginning of 2026 to the end of July, the editorial team's videos accumulated a total of 484 million views.
For the upcoming autumn season, the editorial team plans to expand its activities. According to Jakub Bernáth, head of the social media team, attention will focus on political content, live streams, and longer video formats for YouTube. The television station also plans to enter the communication platform Discord, thereby aiming to further deepen interaction with viewers.
In the current ranking of news profiles on TikTok, the leading TV Nova is followed by CNN Prima NEWS (240 thousand), the daily Blesk (118 thousand), the portal Refresher (117 thousand), and eXtra.cz (82 thousand followers).
