The Prima media group is undergoing a significant transformation of its organizational structure as of July 1st. The current CEO, Marek Singer, is stepping down from operational management after years and moving to the company's supervisory board. He will be replaced at the head of the group by Lukáš Kubát, who previously served as executive director.
According to the company, the changes in leadership aim to support the development of key activities and accelerate the dynamics of processes in connection with the transformation of the media market. In the supervisory board, Marek Singer will focus on the position of director for strategy and identifying new business opportunities, thus retaining influence over the future direction of the group, which is owned by the financial group GES Group of billionaire Ivan Zach.
The personnel reshuffles also include shifts within top management. Alex Ruzek, who previously served as program director, assumes the newly created role of Chief Broadcasting & Radio Officer.
“In addition to television broadcasting, she will now also manage the group's activities in the radio sector,”
said station representative Blanka Bumbálková.
The composition of the supervisory board itself will also undergo changes. From July, its members will include, in addition to Marek Singer, GES Group investment director Jaroslav Hrabovský and GES Group financial project manager Johana Wimmerová. This change strengthens the direct link between the owner and the management of the media house.
The Prima Group is currently one of the strongest players in the Czech market. It operates 13 nationwide television stations, six radio stations, and manages a portfolio of three dozen web portals. The restructuring comes at a time when commercial television faces increasing competition from streaming services and digital content.
