Listeners of the digital radio station Zun Radio will have to do without the popular show Hollywood Midnight this week. The broadcast was forcibly suspended on Wednesday, April 24, and Thursday, April 25, due to the sudden health indisposition of presenter Zuza. She is battling severe laryngitis, which practically prevents her from performing her profession and controlling her voice.
According to a statement from station representatives, the presenter's condition is so serious that her vocal cords are failing, and the audio output does not meet standard broadcasting quality.
Vocal cords affected by laryngitis cooperate only symbolically, so the resulting show would sound approximately like an encrypted message in Morse code, the station's report states, adding that the presenter is only able to produce a fraction of the planned sound in an unpredictable order.
The forced break occurs in the second half of the week, with Friday's slot already outside the schedule due to a public holiday. The station emphasized that preparations for the broadcast were in full swing, and the editorial team had all planned news and updates ready. However, due to health complications, they had to be postponed by several days.
Despite the enforced break, the radio assures fans that they will not miss out on the prepared content. All planned premieres and music news have been moved to next week, when the presenter is expected to return to the microphone at full strength. The program should return to its standard schedule immediately after the convalescence period, i.e., at the start of the new broadcasting week.
Hollywood Midnight is one of the prominent formats of DAB+ digital broadcasting, where Zun Radio positions itself as a modern medium focused on current trends and specific musical taste. The temporary outage of moderated content will be replaced by a music stream during the designated times.
