With the arrival of the first week of July, the main domestic television groups are launching their summer season. The program schedule for the upcoming months primarily relies on proven archives, reruns of successful series, and long-standing audience-favorite entertainment formats. This change affects all three biggest players in the market – Czech Television, and the Nova and Prima groups.
The dominant element of summer evenings remains the crime genre, which will appear in prime time on all stations. Viewers can look forward to the return of investigators from projects such as Místo zločinu Ostrava, Policie Modrava, or Polda. The offering will also be supplemented by classics in the form of Četnické humoresky and Dobrodružství kriminalistiky.
New Travelogues and Proven Entertainment
In addition to crime shows, Czech comedies and evergreen series form the backbone of the broadcast. Czech Television has included titles like Vyprávěj, Most!, and the acclaimed Volha in its program. The film library will be represented by, for example, Posteřižiny or Marie Poledňáková's cult family comedies. The only significant premiere of the summer will be a travelogue magazine:
- Čekuj Česko – morning weekend travelogue on TV Nova (starts July 5).
- Farma Česko – the second season of the reality show in Nova's summer schedule.
- Inkognito and Show Jana Krause – mainstays of TV Prima's entertainment program.
- Samotáři or Všichni dobří rodáci – film classics on ČT1.
International crime series will also appear as reruns, specifically FBI or CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. Prima, in addition to domestic productions, is relying on the popular talk show 7 pádů Honzy Dědka and the competition show Máme rádi Česko.
Betting on Certainty and Film Archives
According to the published information, it is evident that television channels are sticking to a strategy of an economical summer with a minimum of premieres in prime time. “The only summer premiere on the main channels will be the morning weekend travelogue Čekuj Česko,” states the broadcast overview. This program will fill the time every holiday Sunday at 10:30 AM.
The film offering of private stations will focus on popular comedies such as the Babovřesky trilogy, Slunce, seno, erotika, or the film Vesničko má středisková. Czech Television, on the other hand, returns to projects that resonated in recent years, including Svět pod hlavou or Docent.
