Europe 2 radio's Morning Show is entering its 29th season with a significant personnel change. As hinted by moderator Leoš Mareš on his social media, actor and comedian Štěpán Kozub will join the team. Information about his engagement was subsequently confirmed by sources close to the Žena.cz editorial office. Although Kozub's participation in the show is certain, his role will not be what listeners might initially expect.
The key information for loyal listeners is the fact that Kozub will not replace long-time moderator Patrik Hezucký. This was emphasized by Leoš Mareš himself, who rejected speculation about a direct replacement for his current radio duo. According to available information, the radio plans to introduce an entirely new form of involvement, which it is currently keeping secret.
“No one can replace Patrik, and we won't even try. You'll hear about the form in which HE will appear on the Morning Show only during the broadcast itself,” Leoš Mareš stated.
Speculation about Štěpán Kozub's arrival began with a video on Instagram, where Mareš teased “new content” for the morning broadcast. In the video, a man in characteristic dark glasses, which the actor wears due to photophobia, appeared alongside him, and the typical voice and humor of the Ostrava comedian were heard. Kozub himself joined the discussion under the post with an ironic comment, thereby indirectly confirming his participation in the project.
It is expected that Kozub will not be a classic co-moderator in the traditional sense, but rather a bearer of specific segments or regular contributions. The exact nature of his involvement on Europe 2's airwaves is intended to be the main draw for the start of the new season, which begins broadcasting on Monday at 6:00 AM. With this move, the radio aims to refresh the format and attract fans of the popular comedian to morning listening.
