The Prima media group will officially launch its new channel Prima sport on Saturday, August 17. The station will be available within the nationwide digital terrestrial broadcasting DVB-T2 in Multiplex 24, allowing viewers free reception without the need for cable or satellite subscriptions. The group obtained the license to operate this sports channel in June of this year.
The main attraction for the start of broadcasting will be football qualifications. Viewers will be able to follow AC Sparta Prague's journey to participate in the Champions League. Even before the official start of full operation, the station will broadcast a live transmission of Sparta's home match in the 3rd qualifying round of this most prestigious club competition.
“The Champions League represents the pinnacle of European club football, and the journey of a Czech club to participate in it always attracts extraordinary fan attention. We are glad that our viewers will be able to watch the important moments of Sparta's qualification,” said Martin Švehlák, director of news, current affairs, and sports at Prima Group.
To tune in to the new program, technicians recommend using the automatic tuning function in the TV or set-top box menu. If the channel does not appear in the list, it is possible to proceed with manual tuning. In such a case, it is necessary to enter the specific channel number and frequency corresponding to the regional transmitter Broadcasting Network 24. All parameters and signal coverage maps are available on the website of the network operator Digital Broadcasting.
When searching for stations, some devices may require PIN code protection. If the owner has not changed it themselves, it is most often combinations like 0000 or 1111. The editorial office also notes that for successful reception, DVB-T2 standard support is a technical condition. Detailed instructions and updated technical parameters for manual tuning will be published before the start of broadcasting, so that sports fans have enough time to prepare their receivers.
