The news server of Czech Radio, iROZHLAS.cz, has changed its technical backend. České Radiokomunikace (CRA) announced the completion of this portal's migration to its own cloud infrastructure. The transition from the previous provider took place during full operation, with the main goal being to ensure service continuity so that end-users would not experience any outage or change in website functionality.
The collaboration between CRA and the public radio thus expands from traditional terrestrial broadcasting into the digital sphere. The project involved several phases, from the design of the technical solution through implementation to the final data migration. České Radiokomunikace now provides complete operational support for one of Czech Radio's key digital platforms.
According to CRA representatives, coordination between the teams of both institutions, as well as cooperation with the original service provider, was crucial.
“Behind the result is a lot of work that is not visible from the outside: solution design, implementation, the migration itself, and subsequent operational assurance. Everything needed to be managed without impact on users,”
said Marcel Jánský, Product and Business Support Team Manager at CRA.
For České Radiokomunikace, this step represents a strengthening of its position in the market for cloud services and ICT solutions. The company has been continuously transforming from a purely broadcasting company into a provider of complex digital infrastructure and data centers. The transfer of the iROZHLAS portal to their management is seen as a strategic milestone in the development of cooperation with public service media in the digital environment.
According to the company, the professional approach of the previous provider, whose name was not specified in the announcement, also contributed to the smooth progress of the transition. The entire process was demanding in terms of time and energy for the parties involved, especially given the high traffic of the portal and its role in providing current news, which requires a high degree of data availability and security.
