Telecommunications operator O2 Czech Republic has announced a change in its top position. From September 1, 2026, Richard Siebenstich will assume the role of CEO, having previously served as Commercial Division Director. He will replace Jindřich Fremuth, who has led the company for the past nine years. This personnel shake-up reflects the parent company PPF's effort to accelerate technological transformation across the entire holding.
Richard Siebenstich is not new to O2, having been with the company since 2012. As Chief Commercial Officer, he was responsible for commercial strategy, marketing, and customer experience over the past nine years. He participated in key strategic decisions and the company's growth, which has increased its operating performance by more than 50% since 2016. In his new role, Siebenstich plans to build on the existing results with an emphasis on technological innovation and service quality.
“I am taking over O2 with a great team of quality and talented professionals who are behind the success and transformation of the company in recent years. Together with them, I want to build on the achieved results and move O2 even further, especially in the area of customer experience, service quality, and technological innovations,” said Richard Siebenstich.
The outgoing CEO Jindřich Fremuth is moving into the top management of the PPF group to the newly created position of Chief AI Transformation Officer. His main task will be to manage projects related to artificial intelligence across the group's portfolio. Despite his new role within the parent group, he is not entirely leaving O2 – he will continue to hold the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors of O2 Czech Republic.
“O2 is in very good shape today; we have achieved long-term growth and at the same time significantly transformed the company into a technological leader and a pioneer in the use of AI. Richard was involved in all key steps and played a fundamental role in them. I am convinced that he will build on the current development and will continue to successfully develop the company,” Fremuth commented on the handover.
Under the leadership of the new director, O2 intends to continue focusing on the development of mobile infrastructure, especially the 5G network, and strengthening its position in ICT services and cybersecurity. The company will also continue to integrate services within the PPF ecosystem, which includes cooperation with Air Bank in the Unity program or the joint media and television platform Oneplay operated with TV Nova.
