The CSOB banking group is strengthening its communication team. Jan Urban, who brings extensive experience in political PR and strategic communication to the banking sector, joined as press spokesperson for housing and retail in March. Urban becomes part of the external and internal communication team led by director Monika Hořínková.
In his new role, Urban takes over an agenda previously held by Monika Hořínková. His main responsibilities will include communicating topics related to housing, retail banking, and loan products. In addition to product communication, he will also focus on corporate social responsibility (CSR) projects and activities aimed at increasing public financial literacy.
The CSOB Group is thus solidifying the structure of its press department, which now consists of three spokespersons with clearly divided responsibilities. Alongside Jan Urban, the team continues to include Michaela Průchová, who specializes in innovation, relationship banking, and ESG issues (environmental, social sustainability, and governance). The third team member is Petr Milata, who is responsible for insurance, pensions, investments, leasing, and cyber prevention.
Jan Urban enters the commercial sphere from high politics and public administration, where he has been since 2018. His professional career includes managing the communication of political actors in both chambers of the Parliament of the Czech Republic and participating in the managerial leadership of several election campaigns. From 2018 to 2024, he served as PR manager in the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic. Subsequently, from November 2024 to November 2025, he held the position of Director of Communication for the political party TOP 09.
With the arrival of Jan Urban, CSOB completes the transformation of its spokesperson team, which now covers the full portfolio of services of the largest Czech banking group. Urban's engagement in the housing sector is particularly crucial in the context of current developments in the mortgage market and the bank's efforts to position itself as a leader in sustainable housing.
