Southeast Asian producer Loomi Entertainment Group (LEG) has announced the launch of its first English-language series designed for mobile phones. The production, titled The Wolf King’s Forbidden Bride, will appear on the specialized platform DramaBox in July 2026. This move is part of the company's broader strategy to penetrate the lucrative North American market with the specific format of so-called micro-dramas.
The micro-drama genre, characterized by extremely short episodes and a vertical video format optimized for smartphones, has seen rapid growth in recent years. For LEG, this new release represents a key point in its global expansion. The Group's CEO, Sharon Tse, described the entry into the American market as a significant milestone that aims to demonstrate the ability of Asian creators to compete on a global scale.
Production Dominated by Artificial Intelligence
A fundamental technical aspect of the entire project is how the series was created. LEG did not just use traditional film crews for production but deployed its own technological solution. The entire series was created on the company's platform called Imaginary, which uses artificial intelligence tools for generating and editing content. According to the company's management, this approach allows for more efficient scaling of production for international audiences.
“Our entry into North America through a leading vertical entertainment platform demonstrates how technology and creativity can collaborate to bring globally competitive stories to market,” said Sharon Tse.
The combination of artificial intelligence and vertical format is expected by producers to bring new business models and production approaches. Loomi aims to build a comprehensive ecosystem that combines storytelling with automated technologies and direct global distribution. The goal is to create entertainment that is easily digestible for modern viewers who consume content primarily through social media and mobile applications.
Key benefits of collaboration with DramaBox:
Ensuring global distribution on one of the leading platforms for vertical video.
Testing English-language content with North American audiences.
Utilizing its own AI system Imaginary to dramatically speed up production.
Connecting traditional narrative methods with modern video viewing trends.
The partnership with the DramaBox platform is expected to help LEG solidify its position in a segment where it competes for audiences' attention with short videos on platforms like TikTok and Instagram. The success of the first English series will then determine the future direction of investments in automated serial content creation.
