Media Rey, SE publishing house, which publishes the business magazine Forbes in the Czech Republic, has announced changes in its structure. Irena Cápová has been appointed to the newly created position of Director of Editorial. Cápová, who has been with the title since its entry into the domestic market in 2011, previously served as deputy editor-in-chief.
According to the publisher, Cápová's appointment to lead the editorial teams is a natural step in the brand's expansion. In her new role, she will be responsible for the strategic management of both the print monthly and the web platform. In addition to operational leadership, she will focus on developing existing projects and preparing new media formats under the Forbes brand.
“After fifteen years of working together, we are promoting Irena Cápová to a new, higher position within the editorial leadership. Today, the editorial team needs even stronger and more professional leadership – and Irena, thanks to her experience, is the best person to take on this role,” said Erik Conrad, co-owner of Media Rey, SE.
Irena Cápová has been associated with Czech Forbes since its founding, when she was part of a small team under the leadership of Petr Šimůnek. Even after the personnel change at the beginning of 2025, when Zdravko Krstanov became editor-in-chief, Cápová remains a key figure in the publishing house. Her professional career in journalism spans a total of 25 years of experience.
In addition to her new management role, Cápová will retain oversight of her long-term projects. She will continue to be responsible for creating the ranking of the Most Influential Women of the Czech Republic, leading the Forbes Woman magazine, and organizing related conferences and events. At the same time, she remains responsible for the production processes associated with the creation of the print edition.
Cápová herself stated that she looks forward to the opportunity to participate in the further development of the title in her new role, which has been a long-term priority for her. Media Rey, SE publishing house expects this step primarily to strengthen editorial management at a time of increasing demands for both digital and print content.
