Digital television and radio networks will undergo a planned expansion on April 1, 2026. Two new entities are entering broadcasting, covering selected regions of the Czech Republic. Viewers in the Olomouc region will gain access to local content in high definition, while listeners in Vysočina and northern Bohemia will be able to tune into a new thematic radio station within the DAB+ digital standard.

As part of the regional television multiplex RS11, the TV ZZIP station was launched in the Olomouc locality on channel 41. The program is broadcast in HD resolution and its content primarily consists of regional news, current affairs, and magazines focused on events in the Olomouc region. The programming schedule also includes interviews and cultural overviews from the region.

In parallel with television broadcasting, the digital radio segment is being strengthened. The SLOW DOWN RÁDIJO station, specializing in chillout and ambient music with minimal spoken word, is newly entering the DAB+ multiplex. The station is available on channel 6B for the Vysočina region and on channel 7D within the northern broadcasting block. In addition to classic radio reception, the station will also appear in the television network as a standalone radio service.

A technological novelty for SLOW DOWN RÁDIJO is the deployment of HbbTV signaling support within the television network. This technology allows the operator to collect listenership data via internet-connected televisions. For smaller and independent stations, this measurement method represents a more accessible alternative to classic, financially demanding market measurement methodologies.

“Thanks to integration into our platform and the use of HbbTV technologies, even smaller projects can obtain relevant data about their audience and better work with content and business strategy,”

said the network operator regarding the introduction of new analytical tools. The expansion of the offer is part of a long-term strategy for the development of digital infrastructure and the support of innovative services in terrestrial broadcasting.
