Czech Television is adding a new talk show format called Na jednoho (One on One) to its broadcast. The show is based on the successful French original The A Talks and its main feature is a group of interviewers composed of neurodivergent reporters on the autism spectrum. They will interview famous personalities of the Czech cultural and social scene, with the concept relying on spontaneity and the absence of thematic taboos.

Among the first guests to appear in the new talk show are actress Aňa Geislerová, pastry chef Josef Maršálek, actor Jan Cina, and presenter Leoš Mareš. Thanks to the specific composition of the editorial team, the television promises unexpected moments and revelations that often do not occur in ordinary interview types. The goal is to offer viewers an authentic insight into famous faces through the perspective of people who perceive the world differently.

“The talk show Na jednoho offers a completely new perspective on interviews with famous personalities and brings a strong social dimension,” says creative producer Lucie Kapounová.

In addition to its entertainment function, the project also aims to break down social myths about autism. According to experts, this type of program can help the public better understand neurodiversity, without being a dry educational program or expert awareness campaign.

“It allows people to see women and men on the autism spectrum differently than just through diagnosis or stereotypes. The viewer suddenly isn't reading a scientific article about autism, but watching specific people in real interaction,” explains Magdalena Šubrt Thorová, Executive Director of the National Institute for Autism.

The A Talks format originated in France in 2022, where it became a viewer hit and a social phenomenon on France 2. The Czech Republic is becoming one of 22 countries to adapt this concept. Currently, Belgium and Finland are joining the wave of international expansion alongside the Czech Republic. The Czech version is directed by Jan Bártek and Erik Čipera will appear in the role of moderator who steers the discussion.
