The family brewery Bernard from Humpolec defended its position among the elite of Czech business. In the 27th edition of the prestigious ranking CZECH TOP 100, it placed sixth overall in the All Stars evaluation. Within its sector, the food and tobacco industry, it achieved second place, coming in behind the winning Kofola.

The ranking of 100 admired companies in the Czech Republic is not based on simple economic results, but on the evaluation of the expert public. Managers, economic analysts, and representatives of professional associations vote in it. Key criteria include innovation, quality of management, financial reliability, and relationship to the environment and society.

    Recognition for long-term work

Representatives of the Humpolec brewery perceive the current result as an appreciation of their long-term strategy.

“To repeatedly be among a few companies from the entire republic that the business and expert public most admire is a great honor for us,”
said co-owner and chairman of the board, Stanislav Bernard. According to him, it is a confirmation of the meaningfulness of focusing on quality.

Head brewer and CEO Josef Vávra added that brewing beer is a never-ending process of improvement. In the ranking of admired companies within the food industry, Bernard this year surpassed, for example, South Bohemian Madeta or competitor Plzeňský Prazdroj.

    From Vysočina to the world

The brewery in Humpolec, which Stanislav Bernard and Josef Vávra took over when it was facing closure, is now one of the most technologically advanced operations in the country. It currently employs over 260 people in Humpolec and another thirty workers in the hop malt house in Rajhrad near Brno. The company's key export markets include:

    • Slovakia
    • Sweden
    • Bulgaria

In addition to beer production, the company is also involved in other activities. In 2022, it opened a modern Visitor Center on its premises, operates its own foundation, and this year organized the jubilee 30th edition of the Bernard Fest music festival. The brewery's products regularly win awards in domestic and international tasting competitions.
